Unmanned Aircraft Systems - USA / Drones

Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), or "drones," have become a popular tool in many different arenas, from aerial photography to functioning as reconnaissance aircraft in disaster areas. The Federal Aviation Administration requires individuals that operate a drone to register their unmanned aircraft, and to notify the airport operator if flying within five miles of an airport. It is important to understand that once a drone leaves the ground, it's entering airspace, often occupied by other aircraft, and there are several rules that must be followed for the safety of all. There are several resources available to you, the drone operator, but we offer a few links to help get you started.
