Roger Schultz Community Park

Roger Schultz Community Park (formerly known as the Park at Lee Mill Heights) is an undeveloped 76.5-acre park in the southwest quadrant of the city. The parkland is owned by the City of Manhattan and was acquired through a combination purchase and land donation. Surrounding land uses include residential on the south and east, undeveloped land to the north (zoned residential), and rangeland to the west.

The park offers residents a truly unique opportunity to experience the beauty of the Flint Hills without leaving the city. The park features one mile of mowed trails across the rolling prairie and wooded ravines. There is approximately 165 feet of elevation change on the site. Several high points offer stunning views of the park and Kansas River Valley in the distance. There are a variety of plants (PDF) and animals (PDF) you may see in the park.

Getting There

There are two public access points: from Miller Parkway on the north and Loma Ridge Drive, a local street, on the east. Parking is available only at the Loma Ridge entrance.

Master Plan

The park master plan is a long-range vision for the park that responds to the site's natural and cultural resources and community-identified priorities. The Plan was developed in partnership with the National Park Service and adopted by the City Commission in 2018.
