  1. Public Exhibit Opening: Rainforest Adventure

    January 27, 2018 - April 29, 2018 @ Flint Hills Discovery Center

    Swing like a Spider Monkey! Jump like a frog! Discover a rodent that weighs over a hundred pounds and a beetle that can carry over 850 times its own weight! Rainforest Adventure brings the museum experience inside a fully interactive maze environment. Everything from zip lines to monkey bars await as guests face both intellectual and physical tasks. Visitors explore one of the least known habitats on earth in a fully interactive maze exhibit chock full of the sights and sounds of a tropical rainforest! You will come out of the four layers of the rainforest with a knowledge of how humans effect this diverse ecosystem and how we can best preserve it. Once you’ve left the rainforest, visit our Butterfly House in the Mezzanine balcony. Experience a room full of native Kansan butterflies gliding around you as you take in their beauty and learn more exciting facts about these delicate species!

  2. Youth Outdoor Adventure Challenge

    April 22, 2018, 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM @ Wildwood Outdoor Adventure Park

    Sign up soon as space is limited for this very unique kids event that is sure to challenge each and every young outdoor thrill enthusiast. Kids ages 5-6 will compete in our introductory ½ mile course that will involve running, climbing, jumping, and sliding. Age divisions for 7 & 8, 9 & 10, 11 & 12 and 13 & 14 year olds will be challenged in a 1 mile course that will take them over hay bales, carrying objects various distances and scenic trails for running, climbing and jumping. Each kid will get a finish medal, shirt, and various swag items. Also included will be Professional pictures and finish videos for parents of their kids competing and giving it their all. Parking will be limited so all participants will be shuttled in on a hay rack ride from designated parking areas into the Wildwood Adventure Park confines. Every registered participant will receive more detailed information leading up to the event about everything you need to know. See you soon IF you accept the Challenge!!
