Therapeutic Recreation

We offer an extensive program for developmentally-disabled individuals who choose not to participate in the integrated recreation program. Register for these programs at the Parks and Recreation office, 1101 Poyntz Ave., or by calling 785-587-2754. You can also ask to be put on the Therapeutic Recreation mailing list to be the first to know about new programs.

Football Tailgate Party


Join us and your friends to watch the Wildcats play Vanderbilt. Party will be tailgate style with football themed games, the game on the big screen, and tailgate snacks!

Our first Impromptu Night. We will have a "Coffee Shop-like" set-up. Come ready to share your talent wihtout practicing - Impromptu. There may be a prize if your talent is HolidayThemed!

Cooking Class


Cooking classes are hands-on and teach skills in basic preparation of healthy, budget-friendly recipes. Each month, recipes follow a theme. Two items are prepared per class. This may not qualify as a meal. (No class Sept 4)

Bowling Blast


Come and be a part of the bowling fun with your friends each Tuesday, 4:00-5:00pm at the K-State Student Union Recreation Center. Please note the time change!

Gardening


Let's grow some food, then learn how to use it! We will only have one gardening group in the summer, so no Saturday classes. If the "real feel" temperature is over 95* - we'll be at the Community House. Hopefully this summer we can enjoy a lot of fresh air!

Arts & Crafts


This semester we will continue to offer 2-3 craft choices, a coloring tables for 'while you wait' and a specialty arts table each week. Specialty arts will include abstract water painting this summer.

Friday Fun Nights


We will offer gym sports, air hockey, pool, foosball, Uno games, puzzles, coloring, karaoke, line dancing and Wii games. If you don't feel like doing these activities, you can also sit, relax and visit with friends. Don't forget the Un-Birthday Party! (No class Nov 24th)
